Someone earlier mentioned that deleting their presets along with several reboots fixed it. (Seemed quite unlikely honestly but worth a shot on the off chance)

Therefore, if you want to backup and delete the preset/settings files, reboot and see if it makes any difference. On the off chance it does, please send me the preset file.

There are tickets on the Microsoft .NET tracker about similar types of issue but it doesn't look like anyone was able to provide a reproducible case for them to reproduce/fix it unfortunately so I'd wager it's a flook that the chap earlier got it working.

Might be worth trying the 471.11 driver (what I'm using) to see if it makes any difference.
Turn off Gsync, HDR, drop the screen to 8bit. See if any of that helps.

It looks like it might be related to other software on the machine that's screwing with DirectX/Direct3d in some odd way.

Try running in Windwos Safe Mode, see if it works.

Then if it does, reboot and you'd need to start killing all the background software (potentially disabling it from starting up on a normal boot) and seeing if you can track it down.

Thank you for the fast reply. I got the same graphic erros like user 'metroidwar'.

I deleted all custom presets and cleaned all files from Handbrake and Handbrake Nightly in the user directory.
The problem further exists.

I had the problem with the nvidia driver 471.11, too.
I will test it in Windows safe mode, after reboots, etc.

https://github.com/dotnet/wpf/issues/707

Reading this thread, couple of apps/hook libraries stand out: Nahimic and ASUS ROG Phoebus Sonic Suite
If either ring a bell, try removing, if not, it's probably something similar. Anything that might do screen overlays, audio mixing, screen recording etc.

Basically, some of these apps hook the system in a rather nasty way that can affect the rendering of apps that also use D3D/DX for rendering.

disabling Nahimic service seems to fix it yes, question is what is using it.

It's installed as part of your motherboards audio drivers (usually Realtek) Provides 5.1 and 7.1 3D spacial sound effects

So, in my case, i had Sonic Studio running (Strix Raid DLX sound card) ... closed Sonic Studio from the task tray, opened HB 1.4, and no more glitchy UI. Left HB running, nad opened the Sonic Studio App... HB remains fine, but glitches if i close and re-open it. Thanks for the suggestions above!! 8)

I set the Nahimic service under Windows 10 from 'autostart' to 'manuell' start and now Handbrake has no graphic problems.

There are many users who disabled the service because they have different problems in games and apps.

My Microsoft Store automatically update the Asus Sonic Studio 3 and Sonic Radar 3 Software, which may contain the Nahimic services.
I try to unstall the Software, because I do not use and need the programs.
