anyway to check video integrity ?
my handbrake save folder contains some videos which i stopped before finishing encode. anyway to identify those videos ?
Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
Load them in a player and see what their length is, compared to what it should be. When you tell handbrake to stop an encode, it will "finish" it as if that was the end of source, so the "integrity" is fine, just not the full video.

You should also be able to get windows explorer to show you the video length.

Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
Just open them and skip to the end of the videos. If they suddenly stop, like just within a scene, then it's probably not a finished video.
Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
thank you all. i'm curious if there's any software or anything that scans for corrupt video files. i have an old hdd with some movies, i wish there's a way to scan it to see if they are not corrupted or anything
Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
"Corrupted" can mean so many different things, though. You can validate that the streams (after a fashion) using ffmpeg , but that won't tell you if the video is truncated or distorted.
A video shortened by an error during the encode won't have errors in the output (normally), but you would probably consider that "corrupted" for you usage.

Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
It's not like the encode logs have information that could give a hint, right?
Re: anyway to check video integrity ?
If you check the logs and see where it says the encode was aborted, yes, they would.
But, as a practical matter, the person who aborted the encode should know which files they aborted as soon as they aborted them. Which is why the conversation seems especially strange.
