processor core count

I've been using your software for a while, but I still don't know what is the maximum core that handbrake uses for video conversions.
I have an AMD 5950x with 16 cores, does it use them all?
If I had a 3970x threadripper would it use all 32 cores and by default higher processing speed?

Depends on which video encoder, filters, settings you use, and also what format your source video is in, etc.

It attempts to use them all by default. It may or may not be particularly effective doing so depending on your settings.

Excuse me, that's right, I forgot to mention,
use H265-10 bit

Any ideas on what? With the information provided, your questions have been answered. Have you looked at the CPU usage graphs in your operating system?

Since you have 32 logical processors and I do not, why don't you run some quantified tests on a variety of sources, and let us know?
All the tools needed to do so are right at your fingertips, so no why not share instead of ask?

Check out the benchmarking forum and see if anyone has posted info about the CPUs you are interested in.

thanks for the answers
I asked here, because everyone, everywhere, says that all cores are used in video conversion
I'm still not convinced of that

It still depends on your source and settings. They may potentially all be used, or may have some relatively idle.

The H265 10 bit definitely uses a lot of cores, when it is 2k or 4k to convert.
But at 720p and 1080p, it doesn't really bother me, that's what I see

But at 720p and 1080p it doesn't really force itself, I don't think it uses all core there either
sorry, I don't know English well and I translate with google, which sometimes writes what he wants

You also seem determined to "reinvent the wheel" (search on Google), which I encourage you to do, but by keeping non-support questions to a minimum, or on the Tiki Bar forum.

I searched on google, on the forum and then I posted, I always do that!
If I haven't found it, I ask here, thinking I'll get the answers here.
But unfortunately, I can't find it here either

Here every time I asked, I rarely received a positive answer, especially from those who represent handbrake.
Too bad the software is good, but the support always leaves something to be desired and they seem so bored with the answers that you never want to ask for help here
