File from DVD not completely transferring

Post by Rivercoon »

Description of problem or question:
I am trying to reformat video from a DVD to MP4 in order to edit and upload to YouTube. The complete recording on the disc is 2:05:23 long but only 1:52:48 is being copied with the last few minutes is being cut off.
This is footage I shot on tape and transferred to DVD myself with no copy protection ever being use. VLC media player plays all the footage on the DVD to the end.
I have been using VidCoder to transcode videos up to this point and have successfully copied several hundred hours of footage until running into this problem. They suggestion I try using Handbrake and contact you about this. Results are the same in both programs.
Any suggestions to get the video completely copied?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
version 1.3.3

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
