Description of problem or question:

Handbrake is determining that the audio track on my dvd files is Dutch/Netherlands rather than English. It's also creating a forced (burned in) Dutch subtitles. I removed the subtitle track that Handbrake created but I can't figure out how to tell Handbrake that the audio is in fact, English.

Handbrake is responding to the data on the disk. It is not unheard of for language metadata to be incorrect. I've had disks that said all audio and subtitle tracks were English, but they were a mix of Chinese, Malay, and English. And non-dubbed disks that have Japanese audio tagged as English so that it would match the subtitle track.

"Fixing" this cannot be done easily within handbrake. If you rip your disks to an intermediate format using something like MakeMKV, you could edit the metadata in the file to show the correct language. With MKV files, the header editor in mkvtoolnix is simple to use, then handbrake would get correct information.

The language can also be edited post-encode.
