4k UHD with HDR
Does Handbrake support 4k UHD with HDR? If so what settings should I use?
Re: 4k UHD with HDR
Plenty has been written about the "levels" of support currently available in Handbrake for various UHD formats including HDR and HLG.
"Support" for a format is actually several questions, all having their own answers and implications. Yes, Handbrake will open most formats.
You will find your best-compiled answers by using the Search box at the top of this page. Be clear whether you mean "open" certain files, "encode" to certain formats, "process" high bit data streams, transfer hdr/hlg "metadata," or something else.
Once you have done your research, feel free to ask informed questions, which will be better made in the General discussion area rather than these case-specific user support threads.

Re: 4k UHD with HDR
The short answer is, if you have to ask, then no.
A slightly longer answer is limited support for some HDR is possible for some sources with some limitations.

Re: 4k UHD with HDR
One thing I have noticed is that you can’t search for 3 letter words so HDR and UHD aren’t searchable.
Re: 4k UHD with HDR
Limitation on 3 characters is a setting in phpBB to improve search speed, so the database is not flooded. You can still search using google for the terms, specifying "handbrake.fr" as one of the search terms.
Re: 4k UHD with HDR
Nope, google crawler is banned from the forum in robots.txt.
