incomplete frame, issue with matroska VP9

Description of problem or question:
I have an ancient DVD with content I'm trying to save for my family. I've found matroska VP9 to give the best picture result, but it fails to complete the encoding. It encodes happily using matroska VP8, no issue there.

I can not provide the DVD material itself, so is there any point in registering a bug?
And, is anyone else even encoding to VP9... if not, a possible bug report will likely be ignored.

So with the above explained, I hope I'm not wasting your time here. :)

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Select encoding to Matroska VP9 MKV 480p30
-- Encoding breaks at the end.

Select encoding to Matroska VP8 MKV 480p30
-- Encoding goes through happily

Tail of encoding logs of course attached below.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.3.3
Nightly 20200807
Nightly 20200913

To "save for family" I'd choose something with broader support, like H.264.

Thanks. I'm saving both the old actual DVD and also a complete rip from the DVD to keep "broader support".

DVD hold old Super-8 films that my mother coverted to DVD back in the 90s, and I looking to have them in a more portable format. H.264/H.265 encoding sadly end up looking quite awful, especially on scenes with a big blue sky. They are however rendered beautifully on VP9.

So returning to the actual topic in this thread, there is problem with converting to matroska VP9 likely due to the incomplete frame, and the problem is not there when convering to matroska VP8. As I can't share the source material will I fall back to there not being any point in reporting this as a bug, and I'll simply keep on downloading future nightly and full builds hoping the great community around Handbrake have resolved the issue.

H.264 has no problem encoding "big blue sky", so your post doesn't make a lot of sense.

Good luck with the niche-headed-for-abandoned VP9.

"Thank you" for the "best wishes".
