Getting washed/ faded colours videos after compressing

Getting washed colour videos after compressing :


HandBrake version : 1.3.1 (2020010400)

im using Windows 10, on dell xps 15 laptop with intel hd graphics




HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see activity log)


i tried many different settings. the only thing changed was the size of video. or may be ratio. but my problem is i am getting dull , faded or you can say washed colours.

please check the two screenshots

Is your input HDR? Where is your activity log?

Perfect, thanks.

Your videos are using a "full range" color space. There is a bug in the current release that causes full range color to be converted wrong. Can you give the nightly build a try?

i tried as suggested , tried nightly , quality is improved no doubt but it is very minor improvement. check the comparison picture below

one suggestion i need. i wanted to ask if i can use any previous version to compress my videos...? have to replace my had drive and before that i need to take backup but i cant take backup with full size videos.

kindly suggest any stable version with no bugs

Minus the snark, there are always bugs. Bugs are the reason we do a series of bugfix releases after each major update. x.y.0 is a major update, x.y.1 would be the first bugfix release of x.y.0. We really should push out another bugfix release soon as we've had a number of fixes go in since the last. The next "stable" a.k.a. bugfix release will fix this particular bug and a number of others.

Eventually the bug reports settle down to the point that we can concentrate more on new features (where we usually create more new and exciting bugs).
