Whats the default subtitle font?

Post by kisstheowner »

Hi, anybody knows what is the default subtitles font? I import subtitles from a srt file
and no matter what font is the srt, the subtitles always come out the same. Would like to know what
font it is. Thats all.
I use version 1.3.1., Windows 10

The font will be whatever your system defaults to when told to use "sans-serif". On windows, I'm not sure what this will be.

In the future, when this https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/pull/2495 gets committed, you should be able to use font tags in the srt file. But these tags are only good for the line they are specified in so must be repeated in every line if you want to change the font for the entire file. We have other subtitle enhancements planned, but not much work done on it yet https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/issues/1860

Unless changed, Windows defaults to "MS Sans Serif" since Windows 95, according to a web search.
