HEVC file not recognised
Posted: Mon Aug 05, 2019 12:58 pm
I have just bought a Canon XF705 video camera, and want to shoot and edit 4K videos. I have been shooting in HD with a Canon XF305 for some years, and editing with Pinnacle Studio 20. Have moved to a new, well-specced PC, with Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate. A test file from the new camera shot in XF-AVC imports fine, but this is just HD. If I shoot in XF-HEVC at 3840 x 2160 (4K) then I can hear the audio, but there is no picture. The Canon XF Utility plays the 4K file fine though. Pinnacle have suggested converting my 4K file using HandBrake, however, HandBrake does not recognise the file either. I have attached the activity log file below. If anyone can throw any light on this, I would be most grateful.
