Description of problem or question:Cna someone please tell me how to stop handbrake from encoding subtitles? Iv'e tried everything i can figure out to do and I still get them, thank you in advance.

Gee, if we had logs to tell us what you were doing, we could possibly offer suggestions. Handbrake does NOT automatically burn subtitles in unless the container you're using does not support that subtitle type OR you've configured it to do so.

According to your log, it did not add any subtitles. What do these subtitles look like? Some players mistake the mp4 chapter track for subtitles.

Or they might be already burned in to the original video.

Whenever I encode a disk, even after I delete subtitles under the subtitle section, it always starts as 1 pass of 2. It calls the first pass subtitle scan. Am I missing something?? I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know how to tell if a subtitle is actually being encoded.

Try disabling "Foreign audio search" on the subtitle "Track Selection" pane.

Subtitle tab -- Foreign Audio Search appears as a subtitle track and triggers the subtitle scan pass.

Ok I understand what ur saying now, I disable the subtitle scan and it scans anyway, that's the part I'm cornfused about.
