File size vs video length

Post by Ralter649 »

I am ripping home videos. Why is the length of the video not proportionate to the file size using the same settings. Example: 7 min. video was 533,264kb and a 19 min video was 883,711kb. I would thing a video that was over 2X as long would rip to a file that was over 2X as big.

ver. 1.2.2
win 10

thanks for any help you can give.

File Size (MegaBytes) = Bitrate (Mbps) x Time (Sec) x .125
Be sure to include audio bitrate!

Your 7 min. video was encoded at a higher Bitrate than your longer one. RTM if you do not understand why the same "settings" do mot give the same " bitrate,"

Going forward, please refer to and provide your encoding logs, thanks.
