Hi,
Just recently realized that I have been stupid and "downmixed" my MKV's audio to 5.1 when I could have used Auto Passthru.
Seems my A/V receiver (Yamaha RX-V685; 2018 model) can handle that nicely (just tested with Ocean's when played through LibreElec / KODI.
Now my question is:
Is this encoder choice (Auto Passthru) the "best" in terms of output (MKV) audio quality?
There are also other passthru choices (AAC etc.), but I figured that the "auto" is best choice?

Re: Q: About Audio encoding
Yes, not doing another generation of lossy audio encode is the best option, unless it's not the best option because your playback environment doesn't support your source audio track, or the source bitrate is higher than suits your preferences on file size, etc.
Those other choices may be better if one of the above exceptions applies.
