Hardsub is truncated

Description of problem or question:
When I download an MP4 file, and then play it in VLC Media Player with the softsubs turned on I see the subtitles with no errors. However, when I use Handbrake to hardcode the subtitles, the resulting hardcoded subtitles will have sentences with the last letter cut off. Sometimes there is also an "a" with a circumflex diacritic and a box at the end of the hardsub sentence.
I like to reformat the MP4 to have hardsubs because I must show the MP4 videos on a player that will not allow turning on the softsubs for individuals that are deaf.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.1.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 10 ver 1803 build 17134.165

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

Did you specify the correct encoding for the SRT file?

Not sure what you mean, I don't have an SRT file. On the Subtitles tab, there are two options in the dropdown box; "Foreign Audio Scan" or "1 Unknown (TX3G)" I select the later, then I check the box Burn In. The "1 Unknown(TX3G)" file is the English softsub imbedded in the MP4 video.
