How to see what version of x265 Handbrake is using?

Back when you needed to update separate DLL's for x265 support in Handbrake, you knew what version you were using. I see in the latest release version 1.1, they mention they are using x265 v2.3, but I don't see any place in the software itself to find that out. I also don't see any x265 DLL's to inspect. So when I'm using the nightly version of Handbrake, is there a way to verify in the software what version of x265 they are on?

An Activity Log is required for support requests. Please read How-to get an activity log? for details on how and why this should be provided.

And of course, the information you want is in the Activity Log from the relevant encode...

I think the latest release is on 2.6 but the nightly can obviously change whenever as bugs are fixed etc. etc.

The easiest way to see is to run a quick encode then look in the log file as it should tell you which version it’s using.

About x265: It would be possible to upgrade to 2.8 release? It's stable from May.
