Punctuation is removed whether I like it or not

In the settings (Handbrake v. 1.1.1), I have disabled the removal of common punctuation such as periods and commas, but when I use periods in my filenames, they're still removed. Any tips, or is this a bug?

Hmm, I was unable to duplicate my problem. Now I'm wondering if maybe Handbrake requires restarting for this setting to take effect... or if maybe I was just hallucinating. Anyway, feel free to ignore/delete this. Will repost if I notice it again, next time with an activity log. <:-\
