Getting error after upgrading to 2.41

Post by gregB »

I was using this application fine when using version 2.25.
I just got a new computer (Vista instead of my old XP OS). I loaded the new 2.41 Handbrake and it doesn't recognize files.

I click 'browse' on source
Select the folder and get the following error (which I never got on my XP machine):
'No Title(s) found. Please make sure you have selected a valid, non-copy protected source.'

I tried updating the .NET to 3.5 and that didn't help. I've tried many different files to make sure it is not about the the file.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I found the answer in the FAQ. I'll post it in case anyone else is as dumb as me:

How do I get Handbrake working on Windows Vista?

Handbrake will run on vista however it requires to be run in administrator mode. To do this:

Right click your Handbrake Icon

Click "Properties"

Click the "Compatibility" Tab

check "Run this program as an Administrator"

Press Apply / OK

Your done! The Handbrake GUI should now run. Note this is not required for the CLI executable.
