I'm considering upgrading to a Kaby Lake i7 Windows 10-based system because it's taking longer for me to transcode HEVC.
I'm currently running an i7 3770 with the current version of Handbrake. 50 min video takes about 45 min to convert to HEVC -more time than converting to H.264. The Intel Kaby Lake processors can decode HEVC -do these processors also encode as well? Will I benefit from a major increase in transcode performance when comparing with a processor with the same (Passmark) benchmark?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion/insight.
