H.265 (INTEL QSV) options

Post by pentiuman »

hi. i am using intel pentium g4560 cpu with qsv support. i don't have graphic card. i use intel gpu HD graphics 610. i use handbrake 1.0.7 ver. x64

when i choose H.265 (Intel QSV) option, it doesn't work. then i go to "tools>preferences>video" tab and click on "Disable QuickSync Decoding" and turn back, H265 (Intel QSV) render started to work?

isn't that weird? h265 QSV work after "disabling" QSV decode? isn't it has to be opposite?

thank you.

Thank you. :)

I just tried again without quick sync disabled. Encode starts but nothing happened. After 2 minutes it seems "Quene finished" but video file can't be open.

There are some video streams that confuse the hardware decoder. The encoder works fine, but you have to give it a usable video stream to work with, and that doesn't always happen with hardware decoders.

I have also found this to be true - the fact that some source videos work, and others do not. Does anyone know what properties the hw encoder is "confused" by? I'd like to know what to look for or what options to choose when I create/obtain source videos to be sure the hw encoder will accept it. Any thoughts?

I tried some different formats and it is happening generally MP4 formats with h264/avc codec... Other formats like avi, mpg, wmv is working normal.

I wonder that, is that any wrong situation this "confused" renders? When i check at File Info, everything looks normal.

When i look other hevc files' info that i rendered before with iMedia Converter, only one difference seems Codec ID: hev1 instead of Codec ID: hvc1 i guess, it is not important thing?...
