ONLY convert if video/audio is not H.264 / AAC

Post by michael12345 »

Hi all,

I need some help with handbrakeCLI under windows. I tried to read some documentation already but didn't found anything related. I want to achieve the following:

- convert video to H.264 without changing the quality ONLY if video is not encoded to H.264
- convert audio to AAC ONLY if audio is not AAC

Is there a way to achieve such kind of logic?

Video no, HB doesn't do video passthrough and "without changing the quality" is highly subjective.

Audio yes, in the audio defaults choose AAC Passthrough with a fallback encoder of AAC in case it encounters other audio, and save that in a preset.
