libstdc++-6 - System Error

Post by Lazyncoder »

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:
Just installed the latest nightly build:
HandBrake-20170808-faacd7c_x86_64-Win_GUI
When I try to run HandBrake, I get the following error:
The program can't start because libstdc++-6.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

After clicking OK, HandBrake will appear no matter what. But I don't know if this affects HandBrake in anyways or not.

Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of Windows are you running. etc.
Windows Server 2008 R2
Never had this problem before.

If there was any exception or error displayed, please copy it and paste it here:

That nightly build run's fine here so it would appear to be an issue with your OS install. That's not a HandBrake error message.

um, logs won't exist if the app won't run, and the system error message is pretty clear.

If it gets that far, there won't be anything useful it.

Regardless, I can't say for sure whether it will cause problems or not, short of him trying it.
It's not a library we use directly, but one the underlying MinGW framework probably sits on top of. So the side effects are hard to say without testing it.
