No valid source or titles found when using AVI files

Post by TILOfficial »

Hi all

I am currently experiencing a problem with Handbrake. What happens is when I try to import an AVI to convert to an MP4 to reduce the file size it comes up with the error "No valid source or titles found". It works when I use MP4 files but nothing else which is quite annoying as my recording software only saves in AVI format.

I am using Handbrake version 1.0.7 and running the latest version of Windows 10 64 bit. If it helps my PC spec is: CPU: Core i7 6850k @ 4.3GHz, 32GB Corsair Dominator DDR4 3000MHz, Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X99 Gaming, GPU: GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition, Drives: 4TB WD Green 3TB WD Black 500GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, PSU: Corsair HX850i

There was no error message displayed as the error previously quoted was displayed.

The activity log shows the following: HandBrake 1.0.7 (2017040900) - 64bit

Re: No valid source or titles found when using AVI files

Any chance you can provide a small sample (few MB) that exhibits this problem? I wonder if it's a Dxtory variant that hasn't been fully implemented. We've worked with upstream Libav for better Dxtory support in the past.
