[SOLVED] Strange still images randomly appearing on encoded bluray rip.

Post by Gingerwig »

So I am putting my DVD/bluray collection onto my HDD and so far after more than 200 titles have had little to no problems.

I recently ripped X-Men and watched it with no problems and then encoded it. Upon watching it again, there are some still images that appear periodically in the bottom left corner http://imgur.com/a/sCODK. They appear fairly randomly but are burned into the copy.

I haven't seen this on any other DVD or Bluray including more recent titles than X-Men...and couldn't seem to find anything online about it.

Is this some kind of copy protection?

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

My guess would be that one of the burn-in subtitles you have selected is the culprit.

Try turning off all your subtitles, then add 1 at a time to see if that's the case.

That makes a lot of sense actually, as the other thing I noticed is that the subtitle track I added wasn't available at the top of Plex.

I will give that a go, thanks very much.

Good call, @rollin_eng. It was indeed the "Foreign Audio Search" track that was causing the issue. Problem solved.
