Handbrake is sabotaging me - Help!!

Post by ginlane »

Hi there,

I'm trying to reduce the size of a video file using Handbrake.

It does okay, but now the video is rotated 90 degrees to the left!!!!

Absolutely no idea why it's decided to do this.

Please could someone get back to me and tell me how to stop it from doing this.

As an additional piece of information. I then try to get handbrake to rotate back to normal position.
The instructions I found told me to go into the video tab
then go down to extra options, and add the following command , --rotate=4
and then clicking on start!

Come hell or high water it won't do it!

The system Info of my laptop is as follows:

The Rotation filter is on the Filters tab. Adding --rotate to extra options is wrong. It's not a valid option.

Your video source is rotated, which is why it's coming out as such. It'll have a flag in the file which tells players to rotate it at playback. HandBrake doesn't support said flag, so your seeing the true video as-is in the file.

Hi s55,
thank you for getting back to me,
so I went into the filters tab and in the drop-down menu clicked on 90.
It rotated it okay, ..... Unfortunately the video looks all wrong now!
It seems to have fattened us all out. We are all very fat people, where before we were slim!!
I don't recognise myself, it's changed the video. What can I do?
Best wishes Gin
