Hi. My name is Simon. I have a question about rendering raw .avi video captured from a Sony Digital8 Handycam. I captured the video over firewire using WinDV which outputs an .avi file that is interlaced and quite large. I have attempted to deinterlace the video and compress it into an mp4 using handbrake, but the resulting video has harsh lines along the edges of objects, and faces. I just would like advice as to what I should do to get the video to look as good as possible.

Here is an example of the raw .avi video: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jz7ttc99abz4q ... 0.avi?dl=0

I am using Windows 10 64 bit with an AMD A10 4600M quad core APU. I recently downloaded handbrake version 1.0.1 64 bit, but I have not played with it much.

here's the log from my recent attempt to encode:

Many thanks!
