Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:
I would like to process a .mkv file in order to output a smaller .mkv video file and add subtible by importing a .srt file.
The subtitle file correcly appears in Handbrake UI when I use the "Import STR" button but subtitles are not shown on the movie, either with "Default" or "Burn in" options.

Although it seems simple, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Thank you for your help.

Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of Windows are you running. etc.
0.10.5
Windows 7

You could mux the .srt with MKVToolNix after HandBrake encode the file

Yes, it works, thanks for the tips. :)

(though I still don't understand why it don't work with Handbrake)

The encode log is incomplete, it's missing the end (which includes the mux statistics, including the number of subtitle "frames" present in the output).

Most likely explanation, however, is that the SRT file you're importing is not UTF-8 encoded; you can use some text editors to either detect the charset of the input SRT (and then select it in HandBrake), or convert it to UTF-8.

OK, I'll check the imported SRT.
Thanks for this possible solution.
