I know that DolbyTrueHD passthrough is causing trouble... converting too?

Yeah. I know that. But i can't. I converted the file some days ago and since nothing went visible 'wrong' i deleted the logs.

I see that handbrake itself keeps logs in the user directory. nice. so here is the log:

The AC-3 encoder doesn't support encoding to 7.1. If the GUI is allowing you to set a mixdown of 7.1 when the AC-3 encoder is selected, then that is a GUI buglet.

Are there any other compressed audio codecs which support 7.1 output (...and are supported by (most) home cinema systems)?
