Can not read?

Post by Vose »

I can't get past the read DVD. If I don't take that step then it says encoding but does not really open CLI.

It gives me this error on read DVD:
No title found.
6 [unknown (0xD8)] hbtest 4064 _cygtls::handle_exceptions: Exception: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
49537 [unknown (0xD8)] hbtest 4064 open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to hbtest.exe.stackdump

Anyone help.

Are you reading the DVD directly from the drive or is this a rip?

Rip

Post by Vose »

I use to use the handbrake that was just a file wxHB. It would only work if I riped it using desipher. If not it would not scan the first step.

So I guess do we have to use desipher or can we now rip directly from DVD? I think I tried from DVD and it would say scan failed on first step. I will try again.

Wich is better to use wxHB or install Handbrake on system? Both are GUI.

I can't get the Windows version of Handbrake to read a DVD I made on my Panasonic DVD burner. I also use a Mac and Handbrake on my Mac read the exact same DVD without a problem. I get this message in the View DVD Information tab of the Read DVD screen:

------- DVD Information -------
Opening G:\VIDEO_TS...
*** Zero check failed in ifo_read.c:432
for vmgi_mat->zero_3 = 0x00000000010000000000000000000000000000

Any suggestions?

The windows version does not support css encryption meaning basically all commerical movie dvds are unreadable by handbrake on windows.

You need to use something like DVD43 to remove this encryption

FYI wxHB is not being developed and has been abandoned for years now so i dont recommend using it.

Scott,

Thanks. I will give DVD43 a try. I did not realize that a DVD I had made myself on a DVD recorder would have css encryption.

Sorry, I scan read all the posts here.

Your home made DVD shouldnt have CSS encyrption on it.
Its probabily down to the way its been written thats causing the issue. Maybe some 0 cells or something. I dunno.

I don't know what software can rip dvds and remvoe 0 cells on the windows platform. I don't have any DVD's myself with the issue for testing.

DVD Shrink might. Worth trying

Scott,

Thanks.

I will find DVD Shrink and give it a try. Meantime, I am using Handbrake on my Mac quite happily.
