AAC multichannel?

Hi guys.
I am using Handbrake 0.10.2.7286 on Windows 10.
I am trying to backup original Blu Ray discs and make a digital copy for my iPad with a 5.1 AAC audio track from a DTS-HD MA 5.1 track.

For some reason, HandBrake refuses to create 5.1 channels. I have tried several discs and several settings - mixdown 5.1, AAC passthru, DTS-HD passthru, AAC with no mixdown ("None")...
It always comes out as AAC 2 channels and I have no idea why. It's REALLY frustrating.

Any ideas what could be the cause?
I'm putting some of the latest logs here if you want, though I'm not sure how much good they'll do since there are no actual errors in the coding - both the movie and tracks come out fine, just not enough channels.

You should update to the latest version or a nightly build first and see if you still have this problem.

I am using a software called MkvtoMP4, which I also use to decode older Mkvs I have to mp4 files for compatibility with iPad. It shows me which streams are in the file and lists their details, including number of channels for audio streams.
When I open a file directly from the original disc, it reads 7.1 DTS-HD. I would have used this software to code the sound directly from the disc but it seems to have trouble with these 8.1 DTS-HD channels for some reason.

Thanx, but that's not the problem. I have updated the software, but it still didn't work.

The encoding "worked" in that it produced a valid mp4 file with 2 audio tracks... But both tracks are read as 2 channels by MkvtoMp4, not as multichannel. I'm not sure why that is the case.

BTW Handbrake itself also recognizes the track as 2 channels when I reload it in the software to check.
