Handbrake refuse to start after Win7 update

I recently updated windows 7 after not doing it for over 6 months. handbrake was working perfectly until the update. Now it refuses to start with this error message. I uninstalled HB and downloaded the latest version. Still same error at startup. Any ideas?

I tried the .net fix tool from MS, but it did nothing to resolve this issue. I ran CCleaner and still nothing. :cry:

Here's the error message:

towards the end of the error I see there is a path "c:\HandBrake\Hudson\workspace\xxx". Not sure what that is because handbrake was never installed on c: drive.

The item missing is part of the default .Net installation in Windows 10. If it is not present or damaged, as the error message states, there is a problem with the .Net install... But, as you found out, it's hard to fix Windows 10 when it screws up.

A google search for "repairing .net installation windows 10" found a number of non-official fixes.

Even if you did not install handbrake on C:, does the path referenced exist?
