Handbrake - Terminator Genisys - Fails

Post by sirguise »

I have an original rip and an iso of Terminator Genisys on blu-ray, both have encryption removed and play perfectly with normal playback software. However handbrake cannot get past the "Preparing to Encode" step. I have handled thousands of discs this way.

Windows10, Handbrake 0.10.2.7286

In the log, the number changes, but I get several hundred of these:
[truehd @ 0000000004d11ec0] major sync info header checksum error
then handbrake just stops attempting to process as it realizes it is in a sort of loop.

I did not include all the lines as the errors just continue to repeat.

Hopefully someone can help! Thanks, Dave.

I think it's an Atmos issue, you need to remove the Atmos track.

Search the board for the word "Atmos" to find the previous threads.

I am trying to convert the same Blu-ray. It isn't practical to remove the Atmos track because that is the only English audio provided.

I had the same problem with Mad Max Fury Road. My solution was to rip the video and audio into two separate files from the blu ray. Encode the video through handbrake as normal, and use MKVmerge to remux the audio with the video. I pass through all of my audio so it wasn't a big deal.

What are you using to rip the Blu-Ray, maybe post a screenshot of the tracks.

I am having the same exact problem with this title. I even tried to only use the regular AC3 track (not the TrueHD track) and it made no difference.
I have successfully used Handbrake with other titles that had Atmos.

There are other English tracks in there, you need to demux the non-atmos track and video, then remux them then feed that into HB.

Yeah I like others can't get it to work in Handbrake, tried a few others methods as well.

It appears to work with the previous Handbrake Version.

.10.3 appears to have fixed whatever this issue was.
