Outputting in QT .mov?

Post by scooterspal »

I don't suppose there is any way to get Handbrake to output as an Apple Quicktime .mov file is there?

I'm having issues with other programs not wanting to work with either format version of what is now produces and making another compression to .mov is time wasting and there is some quality loss.

It's not supported. It's that simple.

Nope, but QuickTime Player can open MP4 files and a simple Save As to MOV doesn't require re-encoding.

Make a .mp4 to the profile and level you need.
Rename the file extension to .mov in Windows explorer.
The wrappers are so close as to be indistinguishable 99% of the time.
The few times it doesn't work in qt is settings, not the container.
Even the festivals don't notice the change.
