Very quick question about "Strict Anamorphic"

Post by hknutsen »

When I choose the strict anamorphic option, HandBrake changes the resolution of my 1920x1080 movies to 1918x800. Shouldn't this give me two black vertical rows?

Strict anamorphic prevents the output video from being rescaled, it sounds like you want to disable cropping instead. Try manually setting your crop values to zero.

When I rip Batman: The Dark Knight, it automatically crops it to 1918x800. Wouldn't 1920 be better?

Depends on your player.

All HB is doing is removing two black vertical rows.
