Hello -
I just upgraded to the newest version and I am getting this error. "You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode" All I want to do is convert 1 file at a time. I really have no idea what to do now. I have an MKV file I am trying to make MP4. Like before I would just choose the file and then choose the destination and name. Utilizing the presets on the right side.
Please help on how to fix this.
THanks

Re: You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode
You've opened the source and it's telling you that it hasn't opened anything?

Re: You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode
I am not sure but it sounds like that is possible. Here are my steps.
1. Click source - open the file (mkv)
2. Choose the destination file name (MP4)
3. Choose the preset on right "Apple TV 2"
4. Start
That is when I get the error message. That is all I have been doing for years until I hit the upgrade button yesterday.
Many thanks!

Step 1 to fix: POST THE REQUIRED ACTIVITY LOG
Re: You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode
Hello, I have a same problem when I try to encode particular avi files.
I could successfully encode some other files, so I post the logs of both cases.
I am not sure what the "valid title" of the following logs mean.
Please help me!
Thank you.

Re: You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode
HB (really libavcodec) doesn't support the AMV3 video codec in your first file.
Re: You must first scan a source and setup you job before starting encode
I see.
I will try something else for those files.
Thank you!
