libdvdcss won't help convert videos

Post by Dax »

I haven't used any complex features of Handbrake, I just convert videos so I can watch them on my phone. A month ago I was converting plenty of movies without any problems, then I restored my computer. Since then, I've reinstalled handbrake, and put libdvdcss.dll in the program files of handbrake, but the libdvdcss file won't break the copy protection. This is my log > http://pastebin.com/CHqZAr3G

Code: Select all

 libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
libdvdread: Can't open D:\ for reading
libdvdread: Device D:\ inaccessible, CSS authentication not available.

Try to use libdvdcss-2.dll as name (should be copied in the same folder as Handbrake.exe afaik)

I tried that, it only makes the program freeze halfway through scanning the disk. Then it takes a full 4 minutes to close, even closing the process manually. I do believe that it's bypassing the copy lock though.

What version of libdvdcss do you use?
Afaik libdvdcss 0.13 is not supported.
Anther option is to rip the DVD with MakeMKV and convert the mkv with HandBrake.

I think I'm using something after 0.13. Is there an easy way to check, or somewhere I can download an old version? MakeMKV won't save on my drive for some reason, even after running for 4 hours claiming it's saving something.
