Fails on some Titles, works fine on others

Post by csmrrp »

I am trying to convert a DVD that contains three episodes. Two of the episodes get converted properly but the third episode does not get converted at all. The conversion process runs for about 2 seconds and generates an output file but the output file will be zero seconds long whereas it should be 1 hour and 9 minutes long.
Using Handbrake version 0.10.0.6534 - 64bit Version.
Running Windows 7 64bit.
To duplicate the problem: Launch Handbrake. Click Source, click Folder, select the folder that contains the DVD (i.e. the DVD folder contains folders titled AUDIO_TS AND VIDEO_TS) and click Select Folder. Handbrake will display "Scanning Titles" at the bottom.
When I click on the Title drop down I select a title named "71" which is shown to be 01:09:25 long, containing 6 chapters. Click on the iPad preset and click Start (leaving all other settings at default). It will process the title for about 2 seconds and then it will finish but the output file will be zero minutes long.
Interestingly, I have the encountered the same problem with two other DVDs with multiple episodes where the final episode is numbered "71". It works properly on the other episodes but it will fail on episode 71.

I have had the exact same problem, but I'm using the Mac Version 0.10.0 x86_64

I've tried multiple different DVD in same series, and it's happened with all of them.. will not rip the last Title...

Anyone have any suggestions?

@csmrrp what did you use to create that DVD folder?

The DVD folder was created by DVDFab.

Same problem on all files I've tried with two of my pc's. Tried remuxing with mkvmerge, no luck.

Newest version of handbrake works fine on my main pc with nvidia card. The other two machines have built-in intel hd graphics.

Same problem at the office with dell optiplex running win7pro 64-bit and built-in intel hd graphics.

Will everyone besides the original poster please start their own thread with an encode log? We now have four people running two different OSs, using two different tools to pre-rip... the last person isn't even encoding from DVD as far as I can tell.

Disabling LibDVDNav in advanced settings has cured the probem for me

THAT WORKED!
Go into Tools > Options > Advanced. Checkmark the Disable LibDVDNav checkbox.
