I used MakeMKV to rip my dvd's and it finds them.
But when i convert existing .flv files to mkv or mp4 using handbrake it can't find them.
I'm new to handbrake, so is there settings that need to be changed?

Okay now i did some more testing with a w8.1 laptop and it plays from it, but if i transfer it to the desktop it wont play or see it. What would that mean?

Try setting a test encode where you set the framerate option to Constant Frame Rate and see if that works.

okay will try, but am finding out it might not be a problem with the files anymore. As i moved the files to a different computer and they play from there.
