Encoding at 23.976 fps

Post by yoda_26 »

Hello Everyone,

I had some trouble and still have troubles with handbrake when I encode a video at 23.976.
The resulting video is unstable in a sense that images seem to be skiped periodically, and it irritates me. Mediainfo gives the information that the fps is not constant, there is a min value and a max value near 23.976 (like 23.876 and 23.986 or something like this) even if the original video is at a constant frame rate.

I haven't that problem when converting at 24 or 25 fps.

Is there a bug within handbrake for 23.976 fps ? Or is there a tip to overcome this trouble ?

Thanks in advance for any response that could help me

MediaInfo doesn't handle VFR very well.

Encode 23.976 at 23.976.
Encode everything else at their native frame rate.
There is a nifty feature called "same as source" in the settings.
Handbrake is not Twixtor.
