Overriding 1 minute shutdown warning?

Post by Phototaker »

I usually set the program to turn off the PC when it's done. I sometimes intervene to prevent this from occurring if I see that the encoding is almost done & I'm still working on something else. But sometimes I see the 1 minute shutdown notice but the queue screen can't be found. Is a shutdown preventable in this instance & if so how is it done?

Thanks in advance

Because if you start a queue & you have idea as to when it will finish & there is no point leaving the PC on unnecessarly wasting power.

Then it's disadvantageous to set an automatic shutdown if you may be still working on something. Just what did you want?

Maybe he forgot he had it on shutdown? That's happened to me.

It's a setting that is saved between sessions. I've had multiple items queued overnight before with Handbrake set to shut down the system afterwards, and the next day forgot to change it back. Since the option doesn't appear in the main window, it's easy to forget about it.

Or how about this - You have queue set up, the CLI crashes leading HB to think that the queue has finished, and then shuts down the system. Would that warrant wanting to cancel the shutdown?

Start -> Run -> shutdown -a

aborts the 60 second shutdown on windows.

Now, go back to bickering you lot ;)
