Newbie Help

I can't seem to get handbrake to encode my dvds.

I've used anydvd, dvd region free +css, and dvd43 (never at the same time, of course)

I have tried to encode:
Chronicles of Narnia - from disc
40 year old virgin - from disc
Oz season 1 - from disc
Catch and Release - from rip

I have also used FixVTS 1.603 on Catch but it didn't encode.

handbrake never seems to recognize that a media has be loaded. I will continue anyway and select apple tv preset. Then almost instantly it says "Media encoding finished." Obviously nothing has been encoded. Also, the same thing happens with Mplayer. I downloaded the newest dvd driver and still no luck.

I've tried searching through previous posts but could not find anything that worked....sorry if I missed something.
