MP4 contrast/colours

Post by dancingcrab »

Hello all. I've been using HandBrake to rip my Samurai Champloo DVDs (Region 2, PAL). It was recommended to me that I use the 'Apple - Universal' setting, and generally it looks pretty good. However, the contrast looks a little on the bright side. Kinda like there is a mist over the image. It's not that bad, but very noticeable when I compare it directly to the DVD's image quality.

I was wondering if there is a setting that I could adjust to this aspect of the encoding.

Additionally, were there any tips for achieving the best image to compression? I want the MP4s for my Zune HD, so it would be great if each 24 minute episode looked as good as possible both on the small screen, and at 720p.

Thanks in advance.
