Handbrake doesn't regognize dvds

I am trying out this program, and for some reason I don't get it to work at all.
Handbrake can find the dvd in drive by itself. When I use "browse" it scans the drive, and doesn't much anything. Sometimes it gives an error message: "error reading the dvd. some title information may not be correct".
DVD43 is installed.

you have to select the VIDEO_TS file; dont select the whole drive
