Any Support For VC-1 Interlaced content

Post by kurly007 »

Hi all, I've been using handbrake for encoding my blu ray collection and so far been very happy with the results, but there were a couple of movies I had problems with using the original build of 0.94. This was only with about 5% of my collection which had either VC-1 or 1080i H.264 stream. So I tried the svn3036 build and this cured almost all of the issues. The only problem I have left is with VC-1 interlaced content were I get the no file(s) found error.

So to sum it up is there going to any support for VC-1 interlaced content in a future build or is it not worth the hassle, thanks for reading and keep up the good work.

If ffmpeg adds support for interlaced VC-1, then it'll be included in a future release of HandBrake when we bump ffmpeg. Otherwise no.

From what I could read on the ffmpeg side, it won't happen anytime soon. It is not even in plan.
