How can I select a "High@L4.0" (or 4.1) profile for H.264?
Well the title is self explanatory. Not that I can select the usual L3.0 that the codec gives me when making 264 encodings, but at least that's what happens. Is this meant to be done via cli only? And what are the command parameters? Thanks

You can add level=40 or 41 to the advanced options string, but that doesn't necessarily mean the encode will be 4.0/4.1 - it just for tagging purposes.

Err, x264 autosets the level. If you're getting 3 that's because your encode fits inside the 3 constraints. Setting it higher doesn't give you anything except reducing compatibility, because players will see that it's 4.1, and assume they can't play it, even though they can, since it's really 3.0 profile content. Why do you want to do this?

Just curious, why is the PS3 preset listed at 4.1. When removed from script, it shows as 3.0 in MediaInfo.jbrjake wrote:Err, x264 autosets the level. btw: For advanced settings, it is my favorite preset along with MKV, VFR Detelecine, Decomb 1:2:6:9:80:16:16, 2-Pass/Turbo, AutoCrop Strict, AC3, and Chapter markers.

....Because that preset is older than x264 autosetting levels?
