Family Guy Volume 7, chopping end of titles.

Post by Sielle »

I've been encoding all my DVD's to throw on a media server, and everything has worked splendidly so far but I'm having issues with Family Guy Volume 7 which I just got.

One thing to note, is that I am also running Slysoft AnyDVD to remove the copy protection.

What's happening is each episode is 6 chapters long, and as a sample in title 3, chapter 4, the encode cuts out and dies about a minute before the end of the chapter. I've tried encoding just that single chapter and it still dies at the end. I'm at a total loss as to what's causing it. But I've attached the log to see if anyone could help with it? (This is the log of the single chapter run)

Thank you very much for the help.

I had the same problem, I just ripped Family Guy Volume 7 the other day and HandBrake had problems with the files. It did the exact same thing you are talking about, it would encode 4 out of 5 chapters every time on certain episodes and just leave out the 5th chapter. I believe the problem occurs because of the seamless branching that the DVDs use, although I am not sure about that. Anyway, to fix this problem, I ripped the episodes one at a time by using the Main Title extraction feature on the free version of DVDFab 6 (current version), and ripped each episode to a separate folder. I don't know why it fixed the problem, but all the episodes encoded fine for me. Hope this helps/works for you too.

Not sure what was causing the initial problem, but I wanted to say thank you to Hello, your solution worked like a charm and I found a new tool to use if I run into any problems like that in the future. Thank you again.
