PCM Work around

I mostly want to use HB to get DVD music videos I have on to my ipod. I'm using the Windows GUI and have run into the problem with static in the audio when trying to convert LPCM. One of my DVDs, Most DVDs still have an AC3 track, but I've got a few that are only LPCM. Is there a way (on Windows) to work around this?
