--comb-detect benefit?

Post by Gnd0 »

Hi,

I am just wondering if there is a quality difference between

Code: Select all

--comb-detect --decomb
and simply

Code: Select all

--decomb
when applying on partially interlaced sources.

Thanks :)

--comb-detect will detect which frames have interlace artefacts and only apply decomb to those frames. This can have a positive effect on quality because the decomb filter does result in lower quality if frames are not actually interlaced.
