Embeded subtitles being cropped.

Post by pinetec »

I have a .mov file that is 720 X 480. The video has the black bars on top and bottom which I need to remove. However, some of the embeded subtitles extend into the bottom black bar and are being automatically removed by handbrake along with the second line of subtitles. The The resulting m4v file needs to be 480 x 270. How can I tell HB not to crop the subtitles off the bottom of the video but still have the output set to 480 x 270 including the subtitles?

I tried using the --crop to resize but that actually crops the video instead of resizing to 480 x 270.

I'm using HB 0.9.5 on a Windows 7 box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much.

Michael

Re: Embeded subtitles being cropped.

If the subtitles are hardcoded into the source video, you're not going to be able to crop the video without dropping portions of those subtitles that extended into the black bars.
