Some of the information there is dated, and other parts incorrect. But I don't see anything truly negative.

Please note that HandBrake is a general media transcoder and not a DVD ripper. We absolutely do not encourage use with libdvdcss, and find that people eventually end up having problems with it.

The log suggests the AVI has a broken index. Perhaps try a nightly build (unfortunately offline at the moment, but we hope to bring them back soon).

You must use the configure subtitle defaults dialog and then save a new custom preset. Then you can use your preset for the batch.

HandBrake does not work with copy protected discs. Some people use MakeMKV first.

I believe she specified iPod touch. My understanding is that AAC audio is pretty much required for video on the platform.

It's on our list but not high priority at the moment. If you have a GitHub account you can subscribe to get emails whenever the issue is updated.

Please update to HandBrake 1.0.7 and see if that works. If not, perhaps you could render a short test sample for us that reproduces the problem?

Hmm, I don't see any obvious issues from the logs. Can you provide a small sample that reproduces the problem? MKVToolNix may be able to help with that.

It looks like you're using the default Fast 1080p30 preset, which should work fine most anywhere. What software/device are you using to play the new video?

Hard to say. It looks like your pastebin has expired.

You can set the cropping and output size manually when saving a preset. When selecting another title to encode, you must then select the preset again.

There is a setting in the preferences/options that allows you to select the minimum title size. I believe the default is 2 seconds, but if you increased this on accident or on purpose, that could be the problem.

Additionally, please disable Intel QSV encoding/decoding. That may be the culprit.

You are encoding 1080p video at with x264 at RF 18. This is ultra high quality and can create large files, especially if the video is high motion, noisy/grainy, or otherwise complex.
