Re: Windows Update KB4586876 Causing Handbrake Crashes

@rollin_eng your confusing posts / people here. He has *no* issues. Since he has said patch, without problem, he's suggesting that it might be a patch installation failure issue rather than a patch content problem.

Re: How often are the Nightly built?

Not quite weekly no.

Development is pretty slow these days so it's somewhat irrelevant anyway.

Re: How often are the Nightly built?

Was nightly. They are no longer nightly. The nightly build platform was shutdown a while ago.

Back to snapshots again which are mostly random but usually 2~3 weeks unless something bigger happens. When GitHub fixes a few API problems, we'll hopefully go back to nightly again in the future.

1.3.3 does not formally support M1 macs.

Please use the 1.4 beta from the download page.

Re: Why is cropping managed in this non-nonsensical way?

The summary tab is not meant to be used for crop preview. It doesn't work for that purpose as the image is heavily scaled so cropping will be inaccurate. There is a dedicated preview window (see toolbar, and if your using a nightly build, includes crop controls on it). That said, the development com...

Re: Ubuntu Groovy GeForce GTX 1060 6GB nvenc doesn't available

We'd need a log for an actual encode attempt.

Also, 1.3.3 is the latest version. We recommend using our flatpak builds, or compiling from source over using any distro provided builds as the latter tend to be broken and missing features.

You need to let it scan the bluray directory. Order of the episodes is determined by the bluray disc, not Handbrake.

What are you actually trying to do here? Encode what to what?

What are your priorities. Pick two: Quality, Filesize, Speed.

Re: Beginner*s problems / maybe setup problem

OpenSuse Packman is actually on our blacklist for broken builds. (https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/get-handbrake/where-to-get-handbrake.html) System wide crashes are typically a hardware or driver issue. HandBrake puts a high load on the system so it's quite common to see systems have issues. Typ...

Re: Handbrake -> TrojWare.JS.TrojanDownloader.Nemucod.TE@461769977

Assuming you downloaded HandBrake from handbrake.fr or github.com/Handbrake, then Submit the flagged files to Comodo, it'll be a false positive.

They should be able to correct it.

Re: GPU encoding, enabling support

Your nvidia card is the primary so gpu= is not required.

That said, Kepler is really old and handbrake does not officially support it. Not sure what it’ll do in this case. It may or may not work at all. It certainly won’t do h265 as that card doesn’t support it. That came in later generations

Re: GPU encoding, enabling support

x265 is not H265. The first is a piece of software. The second is a standard that x265 and many other encoders implement.

We’d need to see your full log including the header to make any further suggestions.

Re: GPU encoding, enabling support

Your option formatting is correct. However, "gpu=1" is not a valid option for x265 encoder since x265 does not use the GPU. It's a software encoder. You have to use the Nvidia encoder if you want to use the GPU hardware. I'd also note, that the other options you listed "strong-intra-s...

Logs are all stored on disk, so you can just post 2 individual log files either here, to a file sharing site or to a pastebin website.

There is a button on the log window to open the log directory.

External audio isn't something that's planned. Not saying it won't ever happen but fairly unlikely. The current backlog is big enough to keep what little free time we have utilised for a good decade or so at the current rate of progress :/

Re: GPU encoding, enabling support

The log you provided shows NVENc was used and the encode completed successfully. Note, the CPU will still be heavily used and may actually heavily bottleneck NVEnc depending on source/settings used. Decode, Filters, Audio, Sync etc are all done on the CPU and can't be put on Nvidia card. You've turn...

Re: Hanbreak only exports one of my two audio tracks.

HandBrake does not have the capability to merge audio tracks.

How are you determining that it only has 1? The log shows 2 clear distinct tracks where output. Are you sure the software your using isn't playing both tracks at the same time?

Re: Hanbreak only exports one of my two audio tracks.

Your output file has 2 separate audio tracks that were built from tracks 1 and 2 from the source file.

Why do you think only 1 track was exported?

Re: GPU encoding, enabling support

x265 has no such option. it's a software encoder.

You have to use the Nvidia encoders in the Video encoder dropdown. If they are not listed, your hardware is either not supported or the drivers you are running are not up-to-date.

Re: Can NVenc multipass encoding be implemented to Handbrake ?

HandBrake already uses it. Noting that there are not 2 distinct passes since it's only done on a frame-by-frame basis. So it's not really a true 2-pass mode like you see with other encoders. Whenever ffmpeg releases their next update and we update, there will be a little more control over it enabled...

Re: Slides shown in video very unsharp after handbrake conversion

With your source being at such an incredibly low resolution and bit-rate already, why are you trying to re-encode this? Your not likely to get much in the way of savings here without it looking garbage. You'd need to move he Quality slider a few notches to the right. Probably 18 or 16 might be worth...

Re: Nvidia x265 nvenc

The nvenc presets in their current iteration are a bit "broken". They have a new preset system we'll be implementing later this year all going well which is hopefully a bit more like what x264/5 does. However, "Slow" presets will typically be a bit slower. 3060 is fine for encodi...
